- Petra Nemcova, Naomi Campbell and More Put Their Star Power to Good Use
Big name celebs have been
busy lately, and it’s not for work. Rather, they have spent much time attending
and supporting different charity events around the world. This week, we present
celebrities epitomizing the beauty of humanitarianism in ways about which we're
betting even the hosts of E!'s Fashion Police can't find anything to
criticize.
Charity wasn’t the only
thing to capture our attention this week in the fashion world. We received exclusive
footage of everything that went into the production of the Dsquared2 Spring/Summer 2014 show in Milan. When we
say everything, we mean it: from hair to makeup, designer inspirations, shoes,
and interviews with the models themselves as they prepare to walk down the
runway.
Another event that can’t be ignored was Bangkok Couture at MQ Vienna Fashion Week 2013.

1. Petra Nemcova at China Fashion Charity Event 2013
We see the Guo Pei Couture
collection, and we were blown away to say the least. The intricate detailing
and hand-sewn works are absolutely stunning. Some of these pieces took more
than a year and half to make! This is a must-see video. We are told that this
year is the year of the dragon and that is what inspired the pieces in this
show.
2. Love Ball 2013
Monaco to attend Love Ball
2013. The event raised €3.2 million to fund programmes of supporting families
bringing up children with special needs and building play parks and playgrounds
around Russia. The Ball, which will surely go down in history as one of the
world's greatest high-society charity events, was held under the High Patronage
of H.S.H. Prince Albert II and the Presidencies of H.S.H. Princess of Monaco
and H.R.H. Princess of Hanover.
3. Novak Djokovic
Foundation Dinner
Novak Djokovic Foundation
Dinner in New York. The mission of this foundation is to enable children from
disadvantaged communities to grow up, play and develop in stimulative, creative
and safe settings, whilst learning to respect others and care for their
environment. Early childhood education gives a child a chance to return
strongly to any challenge and become a winner in any field. Novak Djokovic
founded this organization to help the kids from his home country, Serbia.
Serbia has one of the lowest participation rates of children in preschool
education. The number of children aged 3 to 5.5 years in Serbia is about
180,000, and the 2012 findings of UNICEF, show that out of that number, only
44% are included in the pre-school education. The percentage of participation
is different in urban areas (57%) and less developed areas (about 29%). The
worrying factor is that the total number of children in kindergartens in recent
years is being reduced and that preschool services are not used by those who
need it the most - socially disadvantaged children.
