For the past 50 years, the
annual Pirelli calendar has brought together fashion’s finest models and
photographers to produce some of the most iconic images, which celebrate female
beauty. This year’s calendar, marks its 50th anniversary with a supermodel special
pictured by acclaimed photographers Patrick Demarchelier and Peter Lindbergh in
New York.
Among the mega models to star in the special edition are Miranda Kerr, Helena Christensen, Alessandra Ambrosio, Isabeli Fontana, Alek Wek, AND Karolina Kurkova. Pictures were published in August, as a preview to the exclusive calendar, with the six beauties captured in black-and-white portraits, posing on a windswept beach wearing matching turtle-neck jumpers and bare legs.

fresh-faced, in crisp-white “boyfriend” shirts and matching underwear looking
casual, calm, and simply sexy. And if the sneak-peek pictures are anything to go by, then the hotly
anticipated calendar, known for its provocative imagery and minimal clothing,
has taken a turn for the more demure and simple studio shoot style this year,
while still retaining utmost sex appeal.
Launched in 1964, the calendars by the Italian tyre manufacturer are released to a notoriously limited group of exclusive VIP customers, and have featured nearly every top model of the past decades.
