- Bionic Kangaroo bounces quite like real!
Germans at the first place in the production of luxury cars aimed at the new segment - robotic animals.
Imagine that you come with your small baby to the zoo, the weather will change over time to not too favorable, but your descendant will force-majeure want to see his favorite pet. So i happen soon climb out of burrow creature, but you do not like something. But how do you explain son or daughter, that's what we know from books and television is the only robot clothed in animal skins?
Maybe it's just a crazy fiction, and maybe that was ever really such a scenario, we will see. Manufacturer Festo recently introduced its technological innovation, artificial kangaroo BionicKangaroo that completed portfolio animal robots (Chaika, dragonfly, penguin or insects). my objetive is to develop a robot whose movement would be almost identical with real animals.
The hardest to create a kangaroo, which should move exactly like natural targets, was to maintain stability while jumping on relatively thin legs. 7 kg meter tall and weighing machine but it apparently can quite reliably. Scientists gave him because technology that mimics the tendon tension , like the Achilles heel. Joining plastic, metal and rubber makes the robot really believable.
